The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved a second funding phase for the DFG research group
“KI-FOR: Deep Learning on Sparse Chemical Process Data.”

The consortium is led by Prof. Dr. Marius Kloft, Chair of Machine Learning at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau.

The interdisciplinary research group develops AI methods for chemical processes, where only small and limited data sets are often available.
Following successful work on anomaly detection, the next phase will focus on adaptive AI methods designed to remain reliable under changing operating conditions.

In addition to RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau the consortium includes the Technical University of Munich, TU Dortmund
and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM in Kaiserslautern.

Funding amounts to around €4.5 million.
