bioComp 3.0: Complex Data Analysis in Life Sciences and Biotechnology (BioComp)
-
BioComp is a research center focused on systems biology and membranes, combining established biological research techniques with state-of-the-art AI and computer science methods to answer advanced research questions. AI techniques such as machine learning and deep learning are applied to analyze large and complex datasets, such as sequence information, microscopy images, gene regulation or protein interaction data, in order to identify patterns and relationships that are beyond the grasp of traditional methods. BioComp research also relies on AI techniques to predict the behavior of biological systems and their functional and structural properties. AI supports in-silico modeling and simulations, which can be used to accelerate biotechnology relevant discoveries and improve the fundamental understanding of biological systems.
