  • Logo Applied Machine Learning, Department of Computer Science

The Applied Machine Learning group at RPTU is twinned with the Data Science and its Applications research department at the DFKI. The focus of the group is "Providing concrete, sustainable solutions for the long-term benefit of people and organizations".

Expertise of AML/DSA is divided into the following main research themes:

    • Assistant tools for AI prototyping
    • Spatio-temporal modelling and forecasting
    • Utilizing unstructured data and knowledge
    • Causal, probabilistic reinforcement learning that scales
    • Leaner, greener, cheaper AI

Additionally, the Applied Machine Learning group leads the following taught courses

    • Engineering with Generative AI
    • Machine Learning 2
    • Collaborative Intelligence

and developed the AI Advent Calendar (KI-Adventskalender) to teach AI concepts to school pupils in Germany.
