  Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ralph Bergmann is a full professor (W3) of Business Informatics and Artificial Intelligence at Trier University and Scientific Director of the research area “Experience-Based Learning Systems” at the DFKI branch in Trier. He studied Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence at the University of Kaiserslautern from 1984 to 1990. In 1996, he received his doctorate in Computer Science there with AI-related research, followed by his habilitation in 2001. In the same year, he accepted a professorship in Applied Computer Science at the University of Hildesheim before taking up a C4 full professorship at Trier University in 2004. Since then, he has headed the research group “Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Information Systems.” Since 2020, he has been serving in a leading role at the newly established DFKI branch in Trier.
