    Anita Schöbel is Professor for Applied Mathematics at the TU Kaiserslautern and Head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM. Her research focusses on Integer Optimization, Robust Optimization, and Optimization of Public Transport.

    From 2004 to 2018, she was a professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Göttingen.
    In 2016 and 2017, she headed the joint Simulation Science Center of the Universities of Göttingen and Clausthal there. She is spokesperson of the DFG research group on "Integrated Transport Planning".

    She is spokeswoman of the Fraunhofer strategic research field “Next Generation Computing” and one of the coordinators of the Fraunhofer competence network “Quantum Computing”. She is “AI Pilot for Mobility” of Rhineland-Palatinate".

    2019/20 she was president of the German Society for Operations Research (GOR).

    2023/2024 she is president of EURO, the European Association of Operations Research socienties.
